Eric Clapton has auctioned off his personal collection of guitars and amplifiers, with the proceeds going to The Crossroads Centre in Antiga. The centre is a drug and alcohol rehabilitaion centre which Clapton himself founded back in 1998.
The collection included 75 guitars and 55 amps and made a total of over $2 million when it was auctioned in New York. Among the guitars was a Gibson L-5P that fetched nearly $83,000.
